Angioplasty
Angioplasty is an invasive medical procedure aimed at expanding narrowed or blocked arteries, most commonly coronary arteries, to restore normal blood flow. During the procedure, a special catheter with a balloon is inserted into the narrowed section of the vessel, which is then inflated, widening the vessel and restoring blood flow. In some cases, a stent, a small metal tube, is placed after angioplasty to keep the vessel open. Angioplasty is used to treat coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis, and to prevent myocardial infarction and improve the patient’s quality of life. At Medcenter hospital, this procedure is performed by experienced cardiologists using modern techniques and equipment, ensuring the best outcomes with minimal risks.
