About Mammology

The breast, an eternal symbol of femininity and motherhood, is the most delicate and vulnerable part of a woman’s body. Mammology is the science that studies the etiology, pathogenesis, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the mammary gland and breast.

Our Mission

Our mission is to use advanced technologies and modern methods to ensure the earliest possible diagnosis of breast cancer, thereby saving more lives and improving the quality of life for our patients.

Statistics

In 2021, 250,129 surgeries were performed, of which 3,334 were on the breast. A total of 10,432 new cancer diagnoses were made, of which 1,640 cases were breast cancer (BC). Of these cases, 1,000 (67%) occur in the active age group of 30 to 70 years.

Breast cancer occupies a significant place in the structure of cancer mortality in Georgia, accounting for about 17% of all cancer deaths among women. This makes it one of the leading causes of cancer mortality among the female population of the country.

Breast cancer accounts for 30% of all new cancer cases in women in Georgia, with 1,640 new cases out of 5,400 total localizations. Of these new cases, 656 (40%) were diagnosed at late stages (3 and 4), while only 328 (20%) were detected at the first stage.

One in eight women worldwide will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. This means that approximately 487.5 million women globally will face this diagnosis during their lives.

Services

Our mammologists have many years of experience and are ready to consult you on any issues related to breast diseases. The specialists provide accurate diagnostics and have experience working with unique cases. We offer an individual approach and attention to each patient, including issues related to breast health during breastfeeding.

We are equipped with the latest mammography machine from General Electric, which provides minimal radiation exposure and maximum diagnostic accuracy. Mammography with tomosynthesis allows for the creation of a three-dimensional 3D image, which significantly increases the chances of early detection of pathologies. This is the first diagnostic method for women over 40, as well as for those with symptoms.

Breast ultrasound is a safe, painless, and highly accurate diagnostic method that allows the detection of various pathologies at early stages. Our ultrasound machines are equipped with artificial intelligence, ensuring maximum accuracy of results and minimal waiting time. Elastography, available in our clinic, allows the determination of tissue density, which helps in diagnosing malignant processes.

Our specialists perform all types of biopsies, including fine needle, core biopsy, and vacuum-assisted biopsy. These methods allow for accurate diagnosis of diseases and treatment with minimal interventions.

We offer vacuum-assisted biopsy and resection (VAB), the most effective method for early diagnosis and treatment of benign breast tumors. The procedure takes only 10-15 minutes, is performed without anesthesia, and leaves no scars or marks. VAB preserves the milk ducts and the shape of the breast. It ensures psychological comfort for patients. This method does not require expensive inpatient treatment and is often an alternative to surgery.

We offer the most modern methods of drug treatment for breast cancer, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Our patients receive treatment in a comfortable environment under the supervision of experienced oncologists. The use of scalp cooling allows for hair preservation during chemotherapy, and we are the first in Georgia and the only one in Adjara to provide this service. Our clinic has created all conditions for patient comfort: comfortable chairs, personal space, monitoring of indicators with the latest devices, and a system for the most accurate and safe preparation of drugs.

We perform all types of breast surgeries, including plastic surgery. Our surgeons not only work on removing the tumor but also on giving the operated breast an aesthetic appearance. Oncoplastic surgeries are performed with maximum care for the appearance and functionality of the breast. We strive to provide the best results with minimal consequences for patients, combining tumor removal with immediate reconstruction.

Your health is our priority.

We hope that our team will not only save the lives of many women but also encourage you to undergo timely diagnostics.

To be sure of your health and prevent late stages of cancer development, undergo examinations on time. This is the only rule.
