Liver Transplantation Department at the Medical Center

The Medical Center has an advanced transplant department with more than 10 years of successful work in this field. Our team performed the first successful liver transplant operation in Georgia and became the founder of the direction of treatment with transplantation for terminal liver damage.

Over the years, we have performed about 100 liver transplants from living donors, which has confirmed our reputation as one of the leading centers in this field in Georgia. Our center is equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment and laboratory facilities, so that pre- and postoperative examinations are carried out on site.

Professor Kakhaber Kashibadze heads the team responsible for the transplantation process.

We guarantee comprehensive support at every stage of treatment, from preparation for surgery to the postoperative period, providing comfortable conditions in the wards.

Our team actively participates in international scientific activities, publishing articles in leading medical journals and speaking at world forums with reports on the innovative achievements of our center.

In the near future, in honor of the 10th anniversary of our department, we plan to organize an international symposium. In addition, by the end of the year, our team is going to perform the first laparoscopic donor hepatectomy in Georgia, which is a significant breakthrough in minimizing the time of surgery and recovery after.
