Toshiba Aquilion ONE CT scanner

The clinic is equipped with the latest 640-slice Toshiba Aquilion ONE CT scanner (640 slice). The device is distinguished by high resolution, covering a large area, and speed, which provides a clear differentiation of moving structures. Computer coronary angiography is a non-invasive method of examining the blood vessels of the heart, which allows detailed visualization of the coronary arteries. Using this method, it is possible to detect atherosclerotic plaques of blood vessels, evaluate their structure, and determine localization and quality in case of stenosis. It is also used to detect congenital anomalies and anatomical features of both blood vessels and the heart, and to assess the condition of the coronary artery bypass graft and stent.

SIEMENS 1.5 T magnetic-Resonance Tomography

The clinic is equipped with SIEMENS brand, 1.5 T, magnetic-Resonance Tomography.

  • The following examinations are available to be performed at the clinic: Magnetic – Resonance Tomography of the brain (diagnosis of brain tumors, stroke- apoplexy, specific and nonspecific inflammatory diseases, and diagnosis of developmental anomalies).
  • MRI angiography of the blood vessels (Diagnosis of aneurysm and vascular stenosis)- it is an alternative to X-ray angiography DSA, CT without invasive intervention and ionizing radiation.
  • Examination of the spinal column and spinal cord (diagnosis of changes in the degenerative nature of the spinal column, intervertebral disc herniation, compression of neural roots, neoplastic and inflammatory processes of the skeletal system, and diagnosis of spinal cord diseases).
  • Examination of the abdominal cavity and the cavity of the small pelvis. (Examination of the liver, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands and kidneys non-contrast magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography of the bile ducts).
  • Diagnosis of diseases of the musculoskeletal –system (traumatic injury of tendons, joints and muscles, also detailed visualization of tumours).

PET-CT (Discovery 710) Positron Emission Computed Tomography

A new PET-CT positron emission tomography (Discovery 710) service has been launched at the University Clinic of Innovative Medicine.

The study is the gold standard in the diagnosis of oncological pathology

Indications for positron emission tomography:

  • Determining the prevalence of cancer;
  • Detection of recurrence and/or ongoing progression of the disease;
  • Identification of primary foci of the metastatic process and/or paraneoplastic syndrome;
  • Differentiation of benign/malignant tumors;
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, combination therapy) ;
  • Choosing the optimal location for a biopsy;
  • Planning of surgical treatment;
  • Planning of radiation therapy.
