The department of Endoscopy provides diagnostics and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases:
- Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) using digital equipment, including the function of narrow-spectrum and image magnification;
- Colonoscopy using digital equipment, including the function of narrow-spectrum and image magnification;
- Rectosigmoidoscopy using digital equipment, including the function of narrow-spectrum and image magnification;
- Biopsy;
- Gastrointestinal endoscopic polypectomy (excision of a small polyp);
- Endoscopic polypectomy (excision of a large polyp);
- Endoscopic polypectomy (excision of a “flat” polyp);
- Dilation (expansion) of an esophageal stricture with a balloon or a bougie;
- Stenting of the esophagus (prosthetics) with self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) during narrowing due to various reasons;
- Stopping bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract;
- Ligation of varicose veins of the esophagus;
- Removal of a foreign body from the esophagus and stomach;
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) (Diagnosis of diseases of the bile ducts and pancreatic ducts using a radiopaque substance);
- Endoscopic papillosphincterotomy (EPST) (dissection of the junction of the bile duct with the duodenum and extraction of stones from the bile ducts);
- Bile duct stenting – when the bile duct is narrowed (stricture) due to cancer;
- Mechanical lithotripsy – crushing of bile duct stones.
