Oncology

In the oncology department of the “Medcenter” clinic you can undergo diagnostics and treatment of all types of oncological diseases using the latest methods. Early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer. Biopsy of various organs and peripheral lymph nodes. Cytological, histological and immunohistochemical studies of biopsy material. Determination of key tumor markers important for the diagnosis of oncological diseases.

For the first time in western Georgia, patients with cancer were given the opportunity to undergo radiation therapy in our clinic. (See additional information on the Department of Radiation Oncology).

 

The following types of operations are performed in the Oncology Department:

  • Removal of large benign neoplasms
  • Removal of large benign soft tissue neoplasms
  • Excisional biopsy (complex) of lymph nodes or soft tissue tumors
  • Mastectomy with lymphadenectomy
  • Hemicolectomy with stapler
  • Resection of the sigmoid colon
  • Left-sided hemicolectomy, anterior rectal resection
  • Pancreatoduodenal resection (PDR)
  • Malignant skin tumors, surgical treatment
  • Bilateral sectoral breast resection
  • Unilateral sectoral breast resection
  • Excision of malignant skin neoplasms with autodermoplasty of a large skin defect and regional lymphadenectomy
  • Total gastrectomy or radical resection (due to stomach cancer)
  • Breast quadrantectomy with lymphadenectomy
  • Armpit lymphadenectomy under general anesthesia
  • Trephine biopsy
  • Breast lumpectomy
  • Formation of a gastroenteroanastomosis
  • Gastrostomy
  • Formation of a biliary-enteric anastomosis
  • Formation of enterostomy
  • Formation of colostomy
  • Surgical intervention for locoregional tumor recurrence
  • Biopsy with control of the computed tomography
  • Excision of a tumor without an organ of the retroperitoneal space
  • Excision of large recurrent tumor
  • Myotomy or tenotomy of the spine or neck with or without excision
  • Complete excision of the soft tissue tumor of the spine
  • Extended excision of a soft tissue tumor of the spine
  • Myotomy or tenotomy of the muscles of the scapula or upper limb with or without excision
  • Complete excision of the tumor of the muscle of the scapula or upper limb
  • Extended excision of a muscle tumor of the scapula or upper limb
  • Other surgery on a muscle or tendon of the scapula or upper limb
  • Complete excision of a soft tissue tumor of the elbow or forearm
  • Complete excision of the soft tissue tumor of the knee or lower leg
  • Extended excision of soft tissue tumor of the knee or lower leg
  • Complete excision of the soft tissue tumor of the ankle or foot
  • Extended (wide) excision of a soft tissue tumor of the ankle or foot
  • Removal of cervical lymph nodes
  • Removal of armpit lymph nodes
  • Excision of the thigh lymph nodes
  • Removal of groin lymph nodes
  • Excision of other lymph nodes in a single block
  • Chemotherapy in a day hospital (multi-day)
